Nashville, Tenn — Metropolitan Nashville Police Department ( MNPD) says that one counter protester was arrested and charged during Saturday's "No Kings" protest in Nashville.
Police say 19-year-old Elijah Miller, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is charged with disorderly conduct after they say he brandished a handgun during the event.
MNPD in a release said their officers were flagged down before noon at Jefferson Street and 7th Avenue North. Police say witnesses reported that Millar was involved in heated arguments and spitting at people when he pulled out a gun that he kept pointed toward the ground, placing witnesses and others in the crowd in fear. Police responded to the scene and took Miller into custody.
Demonstrators gathered at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. as part of the national "No Kings" protest movement.
This was the only arrest related to the protest in Nashville.
