DC police investigating early morning homicide in Ward 5 neighborhood

WASHINGTON (7News) — A man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Trinidad and the Metropolitan Police Department's (MPD) Homicide Unit is investigating, officials said.

Around 1:50 a.m., MPD responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of 16th Street, NE, where officers found the man unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.

More first responders arrived and tried to save his life, but he died at the scene, according to MPD.
