A busy weekend is in store, with the Army's 250th Birthday Celebrations on Saturday and Father's Day on Sunday. The weekend brings extremely high humidity, increased cloud cover, and a chance of scattered showers and storms on both days.

While temperatures will be lower for the weekend, the humidity will make it feel hotter. Saturday will feel the hottest with afternoon feels-like temperatures reaching the low 90s. Sunday will feature below-average highs in the low 70s, but it will feel near 80 with the humidity.

The high humidity in the atmosphere will provide the potential for downpours that could lead to isolated flooding. The Weather Prediction Center has the DMV under the 'Marginal' risk for flash flooding on Saturday and Sunday.

Rainfall rates of 1.5" to 2" an hour are possible. Not everyone will get heavy rain, but it is a possibility. Make sure your First Alert Weather app has the notifications turned 'on', so you can receive any flood alerts or thunderstorm alerts.

Most of Saturday morning is trending dry, but scattered showers and storms may develop during the late afternoon and evening hours. Severe weather is not likely, but thunder and lightning could have you seeking shelter. Keep a poncho on hand and know where you can escape the rain if you are outdoors.

Father's Day will be cloudier and cooler, but still very humid. Rain is possible, but the latest data suggests more dry time.

The weekend rain chances have not been consistent throughout the week, so the forecast will continue to evolve.
