FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) leaders met Saturday morning and decided to enhance security in the neighborhoods of legislators and elected officials following the assassination of a democratic Minnesota lawmaker and his wife.

Officials said the attacks carried out by Vance Boelter, who impersonated a police officer, are not linked to Fairfax County. FCPD advised that "any direct personal contact with elected officials at their homes by FCPD will include two uniformed police officers."
