Friday will remain hot to round out the week, but it will also be more humid. High temperatures will be near 90 degrees with 'feels-like' temperatures in the low 90s during the afternoon hours.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING has been issued for D.C. and parts of Northern Virginia until midnight tonight.

The First Alert Weather Team is on STORM ALERT Friday as the next weather maker will bring the chance for rain and storms that may be on the strong to severe side. Rain and storm chances increase after 3 PM with the risk of rain and storms through 2 a.m. Saturday. One or two storms could contain damaging wind gusts, but the higher threat in storms Friday (and through the weekend) is flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from 6 PM Friday until 2 AM Saturday for the D.C. Metro area and areas south into Central Virginia. Rainfall rates of 1-3" are possible in an hour or two.

While northern parts of the viewing area are not under the flood watch, there is still a chance for heavy rain.

Unsettled weather is in store for the upcoming weekend, so keep the umbrella at the ready on Saturday. It won't be as hot, but it will be exceptionally humid.

Scattered showers and storms will develop through Saturday afternoon and evening hours. Heavy rain could lead to isolated flooding. The Weather Prediction Center has the DMV under the 'Marginal' risk for flash flooding.

Another very humid day is in store with scattered showers and storms possible Sunday at any point throughout the day. Even lower temperatures are expected, but the humidity will remain sky-high, so it may feel even more sticky Sunday. Similar to Saturday, the DMV is under the 'Marginal' risk for flash flooding, so downpours are possible.
