May is one of the wettest months of the year for DC, and it's certainly playing out that way this year! More rain will continue to improve drought conditions.

Spring temperatures in the DC area have averaged well above normal, making this spring the warmest to date on record.

Early Thursday morning, clouds, fog, and dampness will give way to sunnier skies by the afternoon.

Monday will likely be the nicest weather day of the week, so try to take advantage of the dry conditions, low humidity, and sunshine while they are here.

A highly amplified storm system over the Southeast U.S. will bring days of rainfall to the District, so get the rain gear ready to go!

May has proven to be quite rainy around the D.C. area, with anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of rain in just the first week alone, but we need a lot more.

As we turn the page from April to May, we also enter one of the more stormy and wetter months of the year for the D.C. area.
